It is always advised to switch off the main power supply before moving ahead in an electrical project. Undo the lugs of the existing switch and remove the wires from the terminals of the switch. Install the new switch in place and slip the corresponding wires under the lugs of the new switch terminals. Tighten the screws accordingly.
Install the face plate back on the wall and check the normality of the newly installed electrical wall switch.
