Back in the 1980′s the use of robots was becoming quite widespread for many and diverse applications in industry. They became popularized on TV and in movies and were being newly tasked with many jobs to cut down on labor costs and increase precision in the production of many items. This included using the Robots became quite popular in the 1980′s, found prevalently in business, industry and even in homes. They were featured on TV and in movies. There use was primarily to cut labor costs, increase productivity and add precision to industrial applications. They also found a niche when utilized in using the robotic duct cleaning system. technology in residential, industrial and business office applications.
About the same time that robots were coming into their own, there was a new awareness of some of the problems posed by building HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems. You might recall the big scare that occurred surrounding what was newly termed Legionnaire’s Disease, when so many people got sick while attending a conference of the American Legion in Philadelphia in 1976. It was later determined that the bacteria responsible for making so many people ill had been lurking in the building’s air duct system.
It’s now known that air ducts must be completely and regularly cleaned in order to keep them safe. Otherwise, bacteria and fungi can develop inside the ducts and cause problems for those breathing the air going through them. Symptoms like headaches, fever, lethargy, chills and loss of appetite can be the result of dirty air ducts. Discovering this, the industry devised a new way of using robots to help uncover the culprit. These robots were put up into the ducts, and, equipped with lights and cameras were able to provide evidence of what lay in the hidden recesses of a building’s HVAC system.
But that was just the beginning. Since these machines had become so useful in identifying the problem with the HVAC systems, maybe they could be further adapted to help fix the problem too. And that’s just what happened.
Actually, getting into an air duct to clean it is very difficult, especially the small ones. The preferred method used to be the use of pressurized air, intended to blast out the particulate accumulation within the space. Corners and bends posed a real obstacle, and complete cleaning was difficult, if not impossible. The job was usually completed with less than stellar results.
To address this shortcoming, a new robot was developed to actually do the cleaning. Outfitted with bristle brushes, cameras and lights, this little gadget went to work like a mad demon. Run by remote control, with a TV monitor for viewing where it was going and where it had been, this little guy is awesome.
There is a big savings on time, labor and cost using the new technology. It’s now possible to clean all sides of a duct in a single session. They’re made to get into all the corners and around the bends with ease. Before their use, this had been a nearly impossible task to accomplish.
There is no more effective way to handle your duct cleaning requirements. The improvement to your breathable airspace will be immediate. Using the robot duct cleaning system just makes sense.
